Uche Fuels Comfortable Crystal Palace Triumph at Irish Side Shelbourne.
Despite entering their first-ever continental campaign, Crystal Palace are adapting at a rapid pace. Without key players like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a commanding result that virtually guarantees them a place in the Conference League qualifying rounds.
Another victory in their upcoming match against Finnish KuPS should be enough to secure direct entry to the last 16, particularly following a prior stumble against Strasbourg.
Fringe Players Seize the Moment
This match offered a chance for some of Palace's lesser-used players to impress. Christantus Uche, in only his second beginning after joining on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a clinical goal. Striker Eddie Nketiah contributed a another, finding the net for the second consecutive succession.
The Shelbourne team that had finished their league season were no match even for a largely rotated Palace lineup. The Londoners were already depleted by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with leg problems.
Control Established from the Outset
In spite of heavy rain in Dublin, Palace quickly established dominance. A slick passing sequence in the 11th minute, initiated by Daichi Kamada's clever pass, allowed Nketiah to lay on Uche for a straightforward finish.

The home side were clinging on desperately. Full-back Kameron Ledwidge was lucky to avoid a booking for two agricultural challenges on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards struck the crossbar with a powerful header from a corner.

The contest was effectively over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past some weak challenges before coolly dispatching a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.
Following the break, coach Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to withdraw several individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse almost scoring his first touch, only to see his effort blocked.
Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off each posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also blazed a glaring chance, showing there is still room for improvement in his game.
A solitary worry for Palace was a late injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This allowed 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to make his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect evening for the traveling side.
